Dr. Krongrad Honored by Jamaica Medical Foundation
The Jamaica Medical Foundation held its annual dinner on May 29, 2008. It honored the research agenda of the Jamaica Urological Society and the impending research efforts of Trevor Tulloch. As he explained it, Dr. Tulloch is set to lead the country in an effort to re-examine Dr. Glover's seminal work that showed very high incidence of prostate cancer in Jamaica. Prevailing wisdom suggests very high prostate cancer incidence in the Caribbean, especially in Jamaica.
Held at Kingston's Pegasus Hotel, the affair features the Who's Who of Jamaican society, including Oliver Jones, Michael Frasier, Paul Lalor and others. The audience and honorees also included eminent urologists, including Lawson Douglas and William Aiken, Chairman of Urology at the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Krongrad was honored as the guest speaker. He addressed the audience on prostate cancer and the need for more communication between doctors and patients.
